Center asks Punjab to relieve 10 PAS and PSP officials

LAHORE: In a letter, the Federal Secretary (Institution) asked the Chief Secretary of Punjab to relieve officials from BS-20 and above transferred under a rotation policy developed in consultation with the provinces. The letter came in response to the Punjab’s chief secretary’s request to let officials stay in the province until their replacement is available.

The Federal Secretary wrote that the rotation policy was developed to overcome the acute shortage of civil servants under which officials of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) and Pakistan Police Service (PSP) who had spent 10 years or more in Punjab were to be transferred to other provinces. Failure to comply with transfer orders would negatively affect officials, the federal secretary said.

The settlement division had issued transfer orders for four PAS officers and six PSP officers, including Management and Professional Development Secretary Ali Tahi, Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan Sara Aslam, Commissioner Sargodha Farah Masood, Secretary Finance Iftikhar Ali, Sahiwal RPO Ahmad Arsalan Malik, Additional IG (Special Branch) Zaigham Iqbal Shaikh, Multan RPO Khurram Ali, Sheikhupura RPO Inam Waheed Khan, Traffic DIG Suhail Sukhaira, Headquarters DIG Zubair Deraishak.
