Classic Gynoug shoot ’em up is coming to PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch on November 12

Ratalaika Games, in partnership with Masaya Games and Shinyuden, to release classic shooter Gynug for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Switch on November 12 for $ 6.99 / £ 5.99 / € 5.99, the publisher announced.

Gynug first launched on Mega Drive in January 1991 in Japan, followed by North America and Europe later in the year, and the Wii Virtual Console in May 2008 in Japan.

Here’s a look at the game, via Ratalaika Games:

The real McCoy

Originally released on Sega Mega Drive, American fans of this shooter beast, known there as the Wings of Wor, will soon be able to discover, like everyone else, this title not to be missed on the latest consoles. This heavyweight is bursting with action and total destruction that will light up your screens. At first glance it might seem like another side scrolling, search and rise game from hell, but the playability factor and challenge is unmatched.

Ready to fight

The planet was wiped out by a virus that transformed and mutated into a race of some of the most fearsome creatures of all time! They are the Mutants of Iccus, led by the terrible Destroyer. Many have faced mutants before you … and many have failed. Now it’s your turn. From the deepest caves of Icccus to the belly of the beast itself, you must fly and fight for the life of your planet! It won’t be easy… but the best battles never are! Destroy the Destroyer and Iccus will be saved, his sky will be free again. But fail and your wings will be cut off… forever!

Action: get ready

Six levels of do-or-die action and take down anything that dares to challenge you or even come in your sights. A “power-up system” is aptly named because as you progress and succeed it greatly increases your firepower and the overall strength you are able to exert! The crystals and colored orbs can be exploded as they seem to miraculously give you even more extra power and don’t miss the red orb as it is a real bonus. The more orbs you collect, the more varied the upgrades. Spot the amber orb and a real treat awaits. Although many actions are now usual in this genre, many surprises await you.

Enemy bosses, mini bosses, ghouls, weird and wonderful creatures, and items all make appearances and aren’t just fodder to be smashed to pieces. Quick reactions are needed!
