Closure of each GH Bass store including 2 in central Pa.

The Bass plant the Derry Township store is closing.

The shoe store is one of 89 GH Bass stores that will close when G-III Apparel Group Ltd. will close all of its stores, which also includes a store at Outlet Shoppes in Gettysburg in Mount Joy Township, Adams County.

Signs in the Tanger Outlets Hershey store, which is next to the Justice clothing store, read “ALL STORE ON SALE!” “AND” STORE CLOSING SALE! “

The clothing group G-III is also close all of its Wilsons Leather stores.

“We have completed a comprehensive review of our retail operations segment,” said Morris Goldfarb, president and CEO of G-III, in a press release in June. “With a focus on improving shareholder value, we made the difficult decision to close all Wilsons Leather and GH Bass stores and entered into agreements for the early termination of the lease of a large majority of these stores. We believe that this restructuring plan will allow us to considerably reduce our commercial losses and ultimately to make this segment profitable. “

GH Bass Co. was founded by George Henry Bass in Maine in 1876.
