Devil May Cry 5 won the 2021 PlayStation Japan Asia Special Award

Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced some of the winners of the 2021 Japan Asia PlayStation Partner Awards. It revealed the winners of partner and special awards based on sales from October 2020 through September 2021. Capcom’s Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition won a special award for being a Japanese / Asian-made game released around the launch of the PlayStation 5 with some notable stats, such as number of players.

Other than The devil can cry 5, Sony also presented PlayStation Special Awards to Sakuna: rice and ruin and Apex Legends. Sakuna won an award as a game created by independent Japanese or Asian developers with the world’s best sellers. Apex Legends received the distinction as the title of western manufacturing with the highest sales in Japan and Asia.

Sony has awarded Partner Awards to games developed by Japanese and Asian companies with worldwide sales and outstanding user statistics. In total, five games received the awards in 2021:

  • Tales of the Ascension by Bandai Namco
  • Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade by Square Enix
  • Final Fantasy XIV by Square Enix
  • Mobile Suit Gundam: Combat Operation 2 by Bandai Namco
  • NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… by Square Enix

In 2020, Sony awarded a special award to Death stranding to be a Japanese / Asian game developed with SIE with the highest worldwide sales of the period. Free and online games Apex Legends, Gundam: Combat Operation 2, and Final Fantasy XIV have now won the same awards for two consecutive years.

Sony will host another awards show on December 3, 2021 and unveil the Grand Prix winners. This award recognizes the three games made by Japanese and Asian companies with the highest sales from October 2020 to September 2021.
