“Do you want to die for your PS5?” Johnstown man charged with alleged armed robbery

WINDBER, Pa. (WTAJ) – A Johnstown man faces charges after allegedly breaking into a Windber apartment and holding a man at gunpoint to steal his PlayStation 5 (PS5).

Shawn Wallace, 34, has been identified as one of two men who, according to the victim, forced open the front door of his apartment, seeking to steal his PS5 at gunpoint on November 11. The victim told police he was able to grab his PS5. and iPad at one point and run out of the apartment and into a neighbor’s apartment. The two men allegedly followed and found the victim in the bathroom of the other apartment.

After asking the victim if he “wanted to die because of his PS5” while pointing a gun at him, Wallace, whom the victim repeatedly referred to as “P”, hit him on the head and face with the ‘armed. With the victim stunned, the two grabbed his PS5, iPad and stole $ 25 from his wallet.

The victim was able to identify Wallace in a series of photos two days later, according to the complaint.

Wallace now faces counts of robbery and aggravated assault, as well as numerous misdemeanor charges of theft, concealment and terrorist threats. He was placed in Somerset County Jail on $ 100,000 bond.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 24.
