If you don’t play Dying Light 2 for 500 hours, you’ll instead read 350,000 words and listen to 40,000 lines of dialogue. That’s right: Techland has found a few more really big numbers to brag about on social media, this time regarding the script for the upcoming game. For comparison, Skyrim has 60,000 lines of dialogue while Fallout 4 has 111,000.
Techland then compares the Dying Light 2 storyline to the famous 1878 novel Anna Karenina, which is famous for being one of the greatest pieces of literature of all time. Of course, the studio is only pointing out that its game has roughly the same word count as the standout novel, but that’s quite the comparison to make, especially when the original title’s story was so disposable. .
Social media aside, Dying Light 2 still looks great. It will be released on PlayStation 5 and PS4 on February 4, 2022. Will you survive the night and digest the 350,000 words of its script? Pack your reading glasses in the comments below.
