Grand Theft Auto Online (GTA Online), the online playmate for Grand Theft Auto V (GTA V), will be leaving the PS3 and Xbox 360 before the end of the year. Rockstar Games announced that the servers will shut down on December 16, 2021. It comes a month later GTA Online is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. As the game moves to next-gen consoles, Rockstar believes gamers should start moving on as well.

Players on PS3 and Xbox 360 will still be able to purchase Shark Cash Cards up to September 15, 2021. GTA OnlineThe website statistics tracking feature and the Rockstar Games Social Club will be closed on September 16, 2021. Two other games will be affected by these changes: The black and Max payne 3.
Rockstar Games also clarified that there will be no changes to GTA V on PS3 and Xbox 360. Changes will only affect GTA Online.
