Venice – William H. “Billy” Lamott, 71, of Venice, FL, and formerly of Lynn and Salem, MA, died Saturday, July 16, 2022 at his home after a four-year battle with progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP ). His devoted son, Michael and his loving companion Patty Bohlen were by his side.
Billy, the son of Fred Lamott and Sophie Gerrior, was born on March 3, 1951 in Lynn, MA. He was married to Patricia A. LeDuc for 39 years until her death in 2012. Billy was predeceased by his sons William (Billy Jr.) of Solon, Maine, and Jason (Jake) Lamott of Portland, Maine. He is survived by his son Michael of Amesbury, MA, Michael’s wife Michelle, and their three children Patrick, Christopher and Abigail. He is also survived by his beloved partner, Patty Bohlen of Venice, FL, who retired in 2013 with him. He is survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins ​​and lifelong friends.
Billy has spent much of his career working as an elevator mechanic with Boston’s Local 4 Elevator Builders. He retired as a highly respected Kone Elevator Mechanic in 2013.
Billy loved his family and spent his summers at his camp at Whitney Pond in Oxford, Maine. He never said no to taking people for rides on his boat or jet ski. He also enjoyed watching football, especially the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. When he wasn’t working, he loved riding his two Harley Davidson motorbikes and traveling to Laconia for bike week. Billy also enjoyed a good round of golf and playing card games with his grandchildren and friends. Additionally, he cherished the times when friends and family from Massachusetts and Kentucky came to visit Florida.
The family would like to share their deepest gratitude to Billy’s caretakers William, Kathleen and Yelena. They would also like to thank the staff at Tidewell Hospice in Venice, FL for their care and assistance. Billy’s neighbors Marie and Dan, Echo and Luca, and Jolene and Dan were constant sources of support and care.
There will be a funeral service at Pine Grove Cemetery in Lynn, MA (entrance from Parkland Avenue) at 11 a.m. on September 17, 2022. After the service there will be a celebration of life at Gannon Country Club, 60 Great Woods Rd Lynn, MA.
