A virtual photographer has posted images taken in Horizon Forbidden West that are hyper-realistic, showcasing the game’s incredible graphics.
A virtual photographer has posted incredible images of Aloy, the protagonist of Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden Horizon Westwhich are so detailed they look real.
Francesco Favero (@vpsharingpanda) shared the images on his Twitter account, depicting Aloy in the Tenakth Dragoon armor set, complete with elaborate headdress and nearly full paint job. What stands out from these screenshots is the incredible level of detail. Every piece of straw, every bead and nearly every strand of hair is distinct, and the coloring and lighting are so masterfully done that it takes a keen eye to realize it’s not real. viewers unfamiliar with Forbidden Horizon WestThe remarkable graphics can be forgiven for glancing at the screenshots and mistaking them for shots of detailed cosplay. Besides being the main protagonist of the Horizon games, Aloy is a Nora Brave, Seeker and machine hunter with incredible skills. She is the genetic clone of 21st century roboticist and engineer Dr. Elisabet Sobeck, and the genetic twin of Beta, a creation of Far Zenith. Unlike her twin, GAIA, Project Zero Dawn’s ruling artificial intelligence, created Aloy as a clone of her creator for the express purpose of fixing it and defeating the rogue AI HADES. Aloy succeeded, preventing HADES from reactivating the Plague of Faro, which had wiped out life on Earth centuries earlier.
Both Horizon The games are open-world action role-playing games developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for PlayStation and PC. The first game, Horizon Zero Dawnbecame one of PlayStation 4‘s defining titles and spawned a comic book series a few years after its release. Forbidden Horizon West released in February to critical acclaim, with particular enthusiasm for graphics and world-building.
Recently, Forbidden Horizon West creative director Mathijs de Jonge explained how the game sets up a sequel. “Horizon is really about mystery; each of our stories is about uncovering mysteries both in the old world and in the present as the game unfolds,” Jonge explained. “Indeed, there’s a lot of backstory we can tap into to develop new storylines and create new mysteries from what we’ve already established.”
It remains to be seen when or if a third game in the series could be released. For the time being, Horizon Zero Dawn is available on PlayStation 4 and PC, while Forbidden Horizon West is available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
