Subscribers have been salty several times this year after it was revealed they would miss out on free PS5 upgrades through PlayStation Plus.
The newest Mortal Shell involved, which can be played on PS4 or PS5 consoles, but the free PS Plus copy only includes the PlayStation 4 version.
It wasn’t the first game to have these issues, but the good news is that some companies are taking steps to rectify the situation.
This month, Square Enix revealed that it will offer the Final Fantasy 7 Remake free upgrade on PS5 to those who downloaded the game through PlayStation Plus.
The announcement was made on Twitter and confirmed that FF7 Remake Intergrade will be available to download and play on PS5 for subscribers on Wednesday, December 22.
This offer comes with a price drop for some of the game’s later expansions, which Square Enix confirms this week:
“PS Plus subscribers who have used Final Fantasy VII Remake through PlayStation Plus in the past will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version of the game. The episode’s intermission, the DLC starring Yuffie Kisaragi, will be 25% off for a period of time. limited. “
No specific time has been announced as to when the PS5 version of the game will be released, but gamers will expect something to drop after 4.30pm GMT.
Like many other games, the FF7 Intergrade offers an enhanced experience on next-gen hardware, with increased expressiveness of lighting, texture, and game environment.
New features have also been added, including the ability to toggle between ‘Graphics Mode’ which prioritizes high quality 4K graphics (4K compatible display required) and ‘Performance Mode’ which prioritizes smooth action. at 60FPS.
A statement from Square Enix adds, “The game also includes a photo mode where the player can take photos of in-game scenes and save their favorite memories, as well as a new episode featuring Yuffie as the main protagonist.
“Those who own the physical or digital PS4 version of Final Fantasy VII Remake and want to experience the PS5 enhancements can upgrade to the PS5 version at no additional cost and transfer their save data from the PS4 version.
“PS4 players who upgrade will still need to purchase the new episode featuring Yuffie separately. “
Meanwhile, the free PS4 and PS5 games for January 2022 will be unveiled by Sony on December 29.
PS Plus subscribers will be able to download and install the free games within a week of January 4.
In the meantime, subscribers have plenty of time to grab the December PS Plus versions, which include Godfall Challenger Edition, LEGO DC Super-Villains, and Mortal Shell.
