PlayStation 5 consoles have been incredibly difficult to remember since launch, and it doesn’t look like that will change anytime soon, unfortunately.
Sony’s latest machine launched in November 2020 and faced stockouts due in part to the pandemic, meaning parts like semiconductors aren’t readily available.

The huge demand has led scalpers to appropriate inventory when it appears (often without warning and at random times of the day) and sell it for hugely inflated prices on sites like eBay.
And it unfortunately doesn’t look like that will change anytime soon, with Bloomberg citing Hiroki Totoki, chief financial officer of Sony, told investors: âI don’t think demand will calm down this year and although we secure a lot more devices and produce a lot more units of the PS5 next year , our supply could not catch up with demand.
“We have sold over 100 million units of PlayStation 4 and given our market share and reputation, I can’t imagine the demand going down easily.”

Nintendo also warned that there could be a shortage of Switch consoles, potentially including the widely rumored “ Switch Pro, ” next year as well.
2021 has already seen the release of the PlayStation exclusive Return, while Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is the next big PS5-exclusive title, released on June 11.
