PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller gets black and red versions • Eurogamer.net

Rejoice, goths and people who like their gaming peripherals to look stylish: a black version of the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller has been announced and will be available for purchase starting next month. And for the flamboyant among you, there is also a bright red.

Announced via the PlayStation Blog, the two new colors are space-themed and are officially called “midnight black and cosmic red”. Black apparently comes in “two subtly different shades of black with light gray detail,” and you can kind of see that by looking closely at the images and trailer below:

There doesn’t appear to be a set date for their arrival in the UK, so you’ll have to keep an eye out for the next month to spot them when they hit stores. [UPDATE: UK retailer GAME now lists the Midnight Black and Cosmic Red for launch on 18th June, priced £59.99. Or, if you’re in the US, you can pre-order the Midnight Black and Cosmic Red via Amazon.]

If you also get the standard white color, you can prank your dad about penguins.

Oh, and if you’re interested in how DualSense features like ‘haptic feedback and adaptive trigger support’ are used in PlayStation 5 games, another PlayStation blog post will be posted later in the day with information on how Returnal works.

Either way, the new controllers look really good, and I’m especially fond of this cosmic red. If only I could find a PlayStation 5 to go with it.
