New high-resolution PlayStation 5 Matrix blueprints have been shared online, showcasing the console’s Oberon SoC in great detail.
The new blueprints, which can be found below, were shared by Fritzchens Fritz, who also provided the very first Matrix shots earlier this year.
The Oberon PlayStation 5 SoC features an eight-core Zen 2 processor running at 3.5 GHz (variable frequency) and a custom 10.28 TFLOPS RDNA 2 GPU with 36 compute units running at 2.23 GHz (variable frequency) with plug in charge of hardware raytracing. Being in the first year of the console, we obviously haven’t seen how much it can do yet, but some games like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart have given a glimpse of how future games will look and function on the console. console.
With exceptional storytelling, exquisite visuals and gripping gameplay, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is proving to be an engaging, fun, funny, and utterly enjoyable return to the series. It also features the introduction of two brand new characters who could arguably be the protagonists of their own spin-off, or at least return to future entries in the series. For fans and new players alike, this is a game I would recommend to anyone and a true demonstration of the kind of titles we should expect for the new generation.
