State Police arrested a person charged with assault in an incident Monday night in White Township. The soldiers say they were sent to a house along Route 110 for a domestic incident that occurred between Terry Stiffey, 43, of Indiana and his longtime girlfriend. Stiffey fled the scene and was later found at the Homer City Sheetz. It was discovered that he was driving under the influence of alcohol, and while in custody, police found drug paraphernalia on him. Charges of common assault and harassment have been filed against Stiffey, and DUI charges await the results of a blood test.
State Police have reported an incident along Oakland Avenue over the reunion weekend. The soldiers say they were dispatched at 6:29 a.m. on Sunday to the 1700 block of Oakland Avenue, where they encountered Wayne Sias, 34, of Indiana, walking down the street with a burning t-shirt and walking towards Sunoco gas station. Several passers-by called 911 for fear of danger due to his approach to the gas station. When asked why he set the t-shirt on fire, Sias replied that he didn’t want it anymore. A non-trafficking citation has been filed with District Judge Susanne Steffee’s office.
