UPDATE: The Argos PS5 restocking has been going on for a few hours, but players are warned that this is a regional drop, meaning different areas will have access to the stock at different times.
Players are also advised that this is a mobile-only version, so you will need to use the official Argos app. A new post from PS5 Stock Alert on Twitter explains:
“If you’re having trouble adding the console to your cart on iOS, use an Android device. Add the console you want, then head to your Wish List. You will see a button asking if you want to transfer the items. from your wishlist to your cart. Then check if your region is online. “
ORIGINAL: With demand still very high in the UK for PlayStation 5 stock, retailers are still struggling to keep up. And for those still looking for a next-gen console, July should see thousands more, but there still won’t be enough for everyone.
The good news is that more PS5 restockings are coming to the UK, and there are reports that another could arrive later this week. The latest predictions and reports have been shared regarding when the next PS5 stock drops will take place in the UK, following previous ones from Scan and Amazon.
It’s unclear which retailer will be the first to offer PlayStation 5 shares in July, but it has been reported that Argos could be one of them. Fresh inventory could be released early in the morning by Friday, July 2, between 1 a.m. BST and 4 a.m. BST.
However, unlike predictions at the start of 2021, things have become more difficult to assess. The PS5 Stock Alert UK Twitter account shared the news today, telling players:
“To answer all of you, the situation with Argos is quite volatile. Sunday’s in-store sales slashed inventory nationwide, keeping in mind that Tuesday at 1:20 am is Argos’ usual drop time. However, the delivery of the bundle 2 weeks ago was Friday at 8am.
“It leaves everyone (including us) wondering whether or not it will drop after midnight on another day, or if 8am Friday is the new Argos drop model. Rest assured, you will be informed of the smallest concrete details that we receive via the lovely people we work with.
“What is happening is that they have shares; However, the internal system has put in place a block to allow purchases so that staff cannot authorize purchases to customers or to themselves through the internal system until they decide the drop should be.
This means that unlike in previous weeks, it’s hard to predict when the next drop in PS5 stocks will be here.
And here are some examples of the best way to try and buy a PlayStation 5 console from major UK retailers:
AMAZON UNITED KINGDOM: Amazon UK works best under power but still has a few flaws that are worth mentioning. Having an account set up with your card details is a good start, and gamers should also try adding a console to their wishlist before checking out. More stock is expected during July.
ARGOS: Argos website has been known to crash and be unable to complete purchases when site traffic is high. Stock trackers suggest using the Argos mobile app and keeping an eye on local store listings. Argos should not receive any more stock before the end of June.
GAME: GAME is a UK retailer that offers the most regular stock updates for PS5 consoles. However, console hunters have been warned to use Guest Checkout, as this option is less likely to crash when making a purchase.
