Playism and Team Ladybug have announced that Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth launches on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on December 16. The side-scrolling RPG was previously released on PC (Steam) in March 2021 after an Early Access period.
The console version of Record of Lodoss War: Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth features new package art, as shown below, drawn by Hidari (Atelier Dusk trilogy, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, Toukiden).
Although this announcement was made in Japan, the press release says the game supports Japanese, English, Simplified / Traditional Chinese, Korean, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Brazilian Portuguese and Russian. So it seems likely that this will be a worldwide release date.
In Japan, the PlayStation and Switch versions will be available at retail, with first impression packages including a 22-track OST and a special booklet. The downloadable version is priced at 2,480, while the package version is priced at 3,980. We’ll have to wait for confirmation from the Western branch of Playism if a commercial release is planned in the West.
We reviewed the PC version of Deedlit in Wonder Labyrinth, finding the visual pixel-art as awesome as ever from Team Ladybug, but the gameplay variety and length of the game was a bit lacking.
