Eh Moo La Htoo, 21, of Austin was charged by Mower County District Court with second degree burglary – dwelling house, fifth degree drug possession and misdemeanor theft.
According to the court complaint, an adult male reported on August 1 that his residence was burgled sometimes between 2 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. that day. He said the burglar broke a window to access it and a backpack and a PlayStation 5 were stolen.
The victim suspected Htoo, who was known to him and knew he owned a PlayStation 5. He said she also knew his work schedule and the type of vehicle he was driving. He also said a neighbor saw the suspect kicking a basement window and described the suspect as a young woman who was possibly Asian wearing a white shirt with red on it and pants Jean.
An officer contacted Htoo and, without mentioning the victim’s name, asked her if she had a PlayStation 5. Htoo denied taking the Playstation 5 from the victim’s residence and said she was trying to get it. contact for a ride. The officer noted that Htoo was wearing denim pants, a white shirt and a red scarf on his head.
Speaking with Htoo, the officer learned she had an arrest warrant. Htoo was arrested, searched and found in possession of approximately 79 oxycodone tablets.
At the time of the incident, Htoo was on bail for motor vehicle theft and suspended driving. She had pleaded not guilty to both.
Htoo will appear in court again on August 16.
